Muplas Earth® offers biodegradable packaging, which is one of the best options for protecting the environment from pollution due to the material they are made of. This material can break down in nature through the enzymatic action of microorganisms, producing carbon dioxide, water, inorganic compounds, and biomass in a controlled period of time.

These bags maintain the characteristics of strength, elongation, clarity, printability, permeability, and sealability. However, they also have an oxobiodegradable compound, which when exposed to oxygen, light, moisture, and friction, will begin an oxidation process that will divide its parts by losing molecular weight .

How long does it take for them to degrade?

The oxobiodegradable compound between 2 and 3 years to decompose depending on the agents it is exposed to.

When we talk about post-consumer recycled content, we refer to the amount of materials collected or diverted from the solid waste stream that has been used as raw material for the manufacturing of a new package or product. These materials can come from household, event, concert, shopping center, airline, and sometimes ocean waste.

According to the Sustainable Packaging Coalition, most of the environmental impacts of a material are associated with the extraction of raw material, the need to use virgin materials is reduced.

Furthermore, according to life cycle analysis studies, the production of a recycled material generally consumes less energy and resources than those required to generate virgin raw materials.
